Falling for Indoor Water Parks

Monday February 20, 2006
Already world-renowned for its spectacular falls, the Canadian side of Niagara Falls is quickly developing a reputation for the cascading water found at its indoor water parks. Scheduled to open on April 1 (no joke!) will be Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, an enormous 90,000 square-foot facility with The Plunge Bowl toilet bowl ride, Extreme Slide Racing competitive speed slides, a wave pool, and a total of 15 waterslides. Fallsview is affiliated with 3 hotels and is part of the Falls Avenue entertainment complex, which also includes the World Wrestling Entertainment Pile Driver drop ride and Marvel Adventure City, a small indoor amusement park with superhero-themed rides and attractions. Opening later in the spring will be the equally enormous Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls. The first Canadian location of the popular indoor water park resort chain will feature a water coaster, wave pool, and lazy river. Already making a splash in the Falls is the Waves Indoor Water Park at the Americana Conference Resort & Spa. Considerably smaller than its neighboring water parks, Waves features a unique, clear retractable roof that allows maximum sunlight during the cooler months and opens to the outdoors during bright summer weather.
