No Dogs Allowed at the Mall of America

Tuesday January 10, 2006
The Mighty Red Baron is MIA at MOA. Minnesota's humongous Mall of America, home of the indoor theme park, Knott's Camp Snoopy, is sniffing around for a new mascot. Cedar Fair, which had been managing Camp Snoopy (and operates Ohio's Cedar Point, California's Knott's Berry Farm, and other parks), ended its relationship with the mall last spring. Although Cedar Fair has exclusive rights to Charles Schulz's Peanuts characters at its parks, the mall had hoped to continue using the Camp Snoopy name and the Charlie Brown characters. In a statement, the Mall of America indicated that it will keep the theme park open and that it plans to announce a new name and theme shortly. For now, the working name is The Park at MOA.
