Visiting the Mouse--with Lots of Cheddar
Monday December 12, 2005
No matter how you slice it, it takes plenty of cheddar to visit Mickey Mouse at Walt Disney World. For those on a tight budget, there are ways to save money by doing some planning and decoding the Disney resort's Magic Your Way ticket program. But what about those at the other end of the spectrum? Walt Disney World is more than happy to accommodate folks looking for a lavish, who-cares-about-the-bucks vacation. For 2006, the Mouse House is introducing its ultimate vacation package, Magic Your Way Platinum. Among the exclusive plan's offerings, guests have a choice of on-site deluxe hotels, such as the Grand Floridian, and three daily square meals at any of the resort's myriad eateries--including the ultra-posh Victoria and Albert's. The package even includes a late-night snack. Want to play golf? Check. Take a behind-the-scenes theme park tour? Check. How about a performance of Cirque de Soleil's wonderful "La Nouba?" Mais oui. So how much cheddar are we talking about? Well, the Platinum package prices vary according to the hotel, number of guests, time of year, and other factors, but a family of four staying for six nights at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge during the regular season would fork over a cool $7065 cash…or put it on a platinum credit card.
