H2O Ho, Ho, Ho

Friday December 9, 2005
Despite the flip-flops and bathing suits, it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas at the Great Wolf Lodges. The chain of indoor water park resorts is presenting its first-ever Snowland, a holiday-themed celebration complete with Santa's workshop outposts, musical performances, contests, and--get this--indoor snow. (They are masters of bringing water indoors, after all.) Three times each day through December 31, snow will fall inside the lobbies of all Great Wolf Lodges, including the resorts in the Poconos, Williamsburg, Virginia, and Sandusky, Ohio. The parks have introduced a new character, Rowdy the Reindeer, to participate in the festivities. Other activities include "polar bear" water slide races, rubber duck races, door decorating contests, holiday scavenger hunts, and gingerbread house-making. On New Year's Eve, the water park resorts will present Snowball, a family party with a renaissance theme.
