Get a Tan in February--in Wisconsin

Monday October 10, 2005
There may be a ton of indoor (and outdoor) water parks in Wisconsin Dells, but that isn't stopping the Wilderness Resort from expanding its already impressive lineup of indoor water park attractions. According to the Wilderness, the resort will be pouring $150 million next year into new condos, a new 18-hole golf course, a new restaurant, and a new indoor water park. The water park, to be called the Wild King Dome, won't exactly be new, however. The Wilderness will be enclosing its existing outdoor wave pool and adding a couple of tube rides. The enclosure will include a specially fabricated roof that will allow natural sunlight in and will give visitors a chance to catch some rays in the winter. By combining the 68,000 square-foot Wild King Dome with the other indoor water park areas at the resort, the Wilderness should settle the who's-got-the-biggest-indoor-water-park-in-the-Dells debate--at least for now. The Wild King Dome is scheduled to open in March 2006.
