Something Fishy is Going on at Disneyland

Thursday July 21, 2005
The Mouse House confirmed one of Disneyland's worst-kept secrets: The long-decommissioned submarines will be back and themed to the popular characters from "Finding Nemo." There has been a large construction wall around the drained submarine lagoon for some time. The wall is now adorned with pictures of Nemo and his undersea pals. The company made the official announcement as part of Disneyland's 50th anniversary celebration this past Sunday. The attraction is scheduled to open sometime in 2007. With Space Mountain now reopened, Buzz Lightyear taking guests to infinity and beyond, and the Submarines coming back, the once-vibrant and recently moribund Tomorrowland is coming back to life. There is no word whether the closed Submarine Voyage at Florida's Magic Kingdom will get a similar restoration. Submarines still ply the waters at Disneyland Paris.
