Third Park on Tap for SeaWorld Orlando?
Sunday June 26, 2005
Central Florida may soon have another water park, according to the Orlando Business Journal. The publication reports that SeaWorld Orlando, already home to the SeaWorld marine life adventure park and Discovery Cove, an exclusive swim-with-the-dolphins experience, has a 58-acre third park scheduled to open in 2007. Corporate parent Busch Entertainment hasn't revealed any details, but insiders say the project will likely be a high-end water park. If SeaWorld does open a water park, it will add an interesting wrinkle to the Florida landmark. When the chain of SeaWorlds ousted founder George Millay from the company, the resilient, insightful pioneer opened the original Wet 'n Wild, the world's first water park, around the corner from the marine life park. Wet 'n Wild (now owned by Universal Parks) may be losing its lease around the time that SeaWorld's proposed park would be opening.
