A Great Year-round Water Park Escape Coming to New York
Thursday April 28, 2005
With seasonal outdoor water parks just about to crank up their wave machines, this may seem like a strange time to be touting an indoor water park that won't open until December. But that's just what Six Flags is doing as it officially unveils its plans for the Great Escape Lodge Indoor Water Park now under construction in Lake George across from The Great Escape theme park. The water park resort will be Six Flags first foray into indoor water parks. It will also mark New York's first indoor water park hotel. Featured attractions at the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge will include an Adirondack-themed interactive water play structure with a tipping bucket, a family raft ride, and a FlowRider wave simulator for surfing. The park's unique roof will be made of a transparent material that will allow plenty of sunshine. The hotel will offer 200 suites, an arcade, a restaurant, and a ballroom.
