Kingda Nah- See the Video

Monday April 18, 2005
For you diehard coaster nuts who were counting down the days until the opening of Kingda Ka: Keep counting. Originally planned to debut this Saturday, April 23, Six Flags Great Adventure now says that the record-breaking ride will be delayed. According to the New Jersey park's PR manager, Kristin Siebeneicher, "The construction of the ride is complete and Kingda Ka is running very well. However, additional testing cycles must be completed before the ride opens." To affirm that construction of the coaster is indeed complete, check out this cool time-lapse video that shows the ride as it was being built. Siebeneicher says that the delay has nothing to do with safety issues or operation of the coaster. Currently testing one train, she says that teams from Six Flags, the state of New Jersey, and Intamin, the ride's manufacturer, need more time to test the coaster and get it up to four-train operation. Siebeneicher gave no official estimate of when the ride would open, but says that it should be soon.
