Candy is Dandy, but Coasters are Quicker

Monday March 28, 2005
In another sure sign that spring is really here and park fans can come out of their caves, Pennsylvania's Hersheypark will be opening for the season on Saturday, April 9. Dubbing the weekend "Springtime in the Park," admission will be free and ride tickets will be available on a pay-as-you-go basis. (During the regular season, Hersheypark uses a pay-one-price policy.) One ride that won't be available on opening day--or the rest of the season: the previously announced new Turbulence tower coaster. A reported fallout with the manufacturer will apparently delay, or possibly cancel, the ride. There are plenty of other sweet coasters, thrill rides, shows, and other delights at Hersheypark, however.
