Hell in the Dells
Monday February 14, 2005
There's plenty of water in Wisconsin Dells. Originally drawn by the Wisconsin River and the unusual sandstone cliffs that line its banks, tourists now flock to the Dells for its incredible number of indoor and outdoor water parks. So, how about a little fire to offset all of that water? Thrill seekers will undoubtedly be hot for Hades, the new wood coaster debuting at Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park. You can read about the record-breaking coaster at my 2005 roller coaster preview. Mt. Olympus is the "mega-park" formed by the recent merger of the Bay of Dreams indoor water park and the outdoor water park previously known as Family Land, both part of the Dells' Treasure Island Resort, with the amusement park formerly known as Big Chief's Karts and Coasters. In addition to the wild Hades coaster, Mt. Olympus will be debuting the Triton outdoor water slide complex and expanding its Titan's Tower Go-Kart track when it opens this spring.
