Could You Swing This?

Tuesday October 26, 2004
As About's Theme Park guide, I'm pretty much legally bound to try every thrill ride out there no matter how wacky or gut-wrenching. But, journalistic duty notwithstanding, my guts can only be wrenched so much before some poor ride operator gets stuck mopping them up. The StarFlyer, from Australian ride manufacturer, the Funtime Group, appears to push the envelope beyond my limits. It's a swing ride that spins around on an axis and rises into the air. Unlike the ones you've probably seen at parks and fairs however, the StarFlyer rises 230 feet into the air. Yikes! Intrigued? Ride the StarFlyer vicariously by checking out this video.
