Four Funnels for Six Flags

Thursday January 29, 2004
Funnel water park rides, the devilish attractions that place riders in four-person cloverleaf tubes and send them soaring back and forth along the walls of enormous sideways-facing funnels, have proven enormously popular. They are as wild to look at as they are to ride. According to the San Antonio Express-News, Armadillo Beach, the water park at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, will be getting a funnel ride, dubbed The Tornado, this season. The paper reports that three other Six Flags water parks, as yet unnamed, will also be installing the rides this year. Among water parks that have funnel rides are New Jersey's Mountain Creek, Indiana's Splashin' Safari and Six Flags New England's Hurricane Harbor.
