Rock While You Roll

Friday August 8, 2003
Pending zoning approvals and financing arrangements, a group of investors say they plan to develop a Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The proposed park, projected to open in 2005, would capitalize on the wildly popular Hard Rock Café concept and incorporate rock 'n' roll themeing into roller coasters and other attractions. Plans also call for a 15,000-seat performance arena. I think a rock-music themed park makes incredible sense and would be a big hit. Can't you see it now? The Tom Petty "Free Fallin' " tower ride? Ozzy's "Crazy Train?" Yes' "Roundabout" carousel? And how about naming a flying roller coaster after Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Freebird?"
